The President

“These leaders help their groups understand what rules and choices are available to them, as well as the reasons behind these rules and choices. They can also gather opinions from more knowledgeable and experienced members of the group to make sure the list of rules and choices are reasonable to all members of the group.”

The teacher continued, “In the United States, people can choose some of their leaders. For example, townspeople can hold a ‘mayoral election’ to choose – or ‘elect’ – a mayor, to lead their town. Similarly, every four years, the people of the United States hold a ‘presidential election’ to elect the president and the vice president.
